  • non occupancy order

Hi my name is Bill,i split with my x partener of 27 years 3 years ago. She is an alcaholic which is were the relationship went wrong. when i contacted social services to get advice she found out. She phoned the police and said thhat i had assaulted her i was arrested but not charged. She then took out a non molestation and non occupancy order which she has renewed for 3 years so far. Since this started she has lost her licence for being 3 times the legal limit whilst coming to pick up my 8 year old daughter. my 14 year old son who was captain of watford rugby club was found living in a crack den. I reported him missing several times but the police said when they phoned his mum she said he had been at home the whole time. He was arrested for intent to supply class A drugs and was addicted to Heroin. His mum disowned him and i have spent the last year rehabilitating him and he lives with me. His mum has just got out of3 weeks in hospital for liver damage due to her drinking. my 10 year old daughter phones me every night to tell me her mum is paraletic and that she has locked herself in her room to get away from her. Can i stop the renewal it runs out in 3 months.

    Re: non occupancy order

are you still in contact with Social Services?? Are they involved at all with the children?? How often do YOU get to see the kids??

I know everything feels really bad right now ... but you were not charged with anything when the police arrested you (and if there was the slightest evidence you would have been) so remember - nothing is as bad as it seems!! :tinysmile_grin_t:

Your first priority is to make sure that the children are OK! Social Services are a good bet for that; is there any way you can talk to them and ask for their advice?? They might have a 'bad press', but they are trained to deal with needy children/families and will be able to start the ball rolling.

Are you in a position to take care of your daughter as well as your son , with your ex getting visits/contact?? Would they be better off both living with you?? Or are there any other family members that could help your ex out??

The Family Rights Group ( http://www.frg.org.uk/ ) are a good source of information on family issues ... maybe you could have a look on their forum and seek some advice of one of their highly trained advisors??
