  • Marlin Financial/Cabot/Restons Solicitors, What to do next??

Hi there I joined this forum about a fortnight ago after I received a letter from Restons Solicitors. For a debt I do not know about.
Reading through the threads I sent them a No knowledge letter, I got a reply saying the will not respond as the letter is unsigned, as you can see their first letter to me just had a generic signature on it.

They are saying they must ensure they are corresponding with the correct person, but have previously sent me the letter with account numbers and sums owed without ensuring they are corresponding with the correct person,(Breach of Data Protection)

The original letter says they will issue a claim if I fail to pay by 24th June 2014,

What would any of you advise my response to them should be???
I have attached copies of the letters received and the one I sent (Recorded Delivery) which they have returned refusing to correspond without a signature.

Sign the letter, doesn't have to be your signature just something squigglisicous. Or use an anti tamper signature strip underneath where you sign it.
They seem to be using this as a bit of a tactic to delay matters lately.

That what I was thinking of doing, but unsure if a generic signature ie: squiggles could be akin to forgery as it is a false signature.

I mean your signature with an extra squiggle on it so if it was lifted for other uses you would be able to tell. Personally I just sign my letters properly.

            Hi,

I joined yesterday and may have posted in the wrong forum. I've received the same type of letter from Restons for an old debt and have no idea what to do next?! I owe the money and remember the debt, but can I get out of it? I've got my first child due in 6 weeks and don't have the £7,000 odd to pay it off! Can somebody please advise me what to do?

            Thanks

Please start a new thread for your case to keep it separate.
