  • Tax Credit Overpayment, Arrest Warrant?

I left the UK in June 2011 and moved to a Non EU country. I think I now have a Tax Credit Overpayment as I left without sending back in the renewal forms. I need to return to the UK next week for a funeral. Will I be arrested at the airport?

I haven't been back at all in that time and therefore would not have received any correspondence from HMRC.

Why would you be arrested? :noidea: I, like many others, have been arguing an alleged overpayment of tax credits since 2012, have been living in the UK all this time and all I've got is a few letters and calls from a low-grade debt collector!

If you don't send the renewal forms before the deadline, your claim is not renewed and you don't get any more payments. I didn't send back the forms because I didn't think I'd be entitled, and payments stopped.
