Is it correct that a company who are not registered with the FSA (Webb Resolutions) is permitted to collect mortgage payments from mortgages that they have aquired from another lender, in this case Mortgage Express. And if that is the case, and they were not legally entitled to do so, should they then now return any payments made by me while they were unregistered?

On another matter but related, it occurs to me that my original mortgage contract was with Mortgage Express, who then sold it onto Webb Resolutions, who therefore do not have a agreed contract with me in place. Is that mortgage contract therefore illegal with Webb Resolutions, and if so I assume that when they aquired my mortgage they have now paid it of on my behalf and they have no contract with me to recover the sum paid!

    Re: Webb Resolutions

your sadly in correct - your mortgage will have been transferred after web resolutions or whoever bought it off mortgages express at a huge discount simply take control and transfer the deeds..

sadly its not a new contract nor do they require you to sign anything..

i went through the same thing as you wondering if was legal etc but its perfectly normal and somewhat an everyday pratice in the mortgage industry..

stinks personally as they dont sell it on to a reputable company.. these firms are sharks and will do everything to top you up on fees and and frankly the only intention they really have is getting hold of your home..

i would simply keep on track with people as they will trick and cheat you will clever legal tatics..

We have the very same with Rooftop Mortgages, Webb and or Crown are connected along the same lines as both names keep cropping up.

You are 100% right Jojo, all they want is to repossess you and wait for you to slip up and not pay the mortgage on time.

          Can you elaborate....

The large amount of money to go with someone else is this two separate properties?

Have they said why they are offering you this money?

Would this money that you have been offered be market value of your property less the outstanding mortgage?

Are you up to date with your mortgage payments?

            Re: Webb Resolutions

On the subject of Webb is there no-one that we can go to to complain about the excessive interest rates. When we first took out our loan with Picture the Bank of England base rate was 4.75% & our rate with Picture (now Webb) was 8.74%. However the BOE base rate has been at 0.5% since March 2009 & we are still paying Webb 9.59%. I have been to both the Ombudsman & the Office of Fair Trading but both say they're powerless to help but OFT did suggest challenging the interest rate legally (how I've no idea!!) It seems that firms like Webb know that they have carte blanche from the financial services authorities to charge just what they like & no-one is willing to stop them. The authorities are up in arms about these payday loan comlanies but far more people are getting ripped off & to a much worse extent by the likes of companies like Webb, but who's standing up for us???Anyone got any ideas please, I'd be more than happy to join in with a group to take them on.
