I received a long letter from their Head of Compliance that in a nutshell said they'd assessed the likelihood of successfully obtaining further payment from me and as a consequence took a commercial decision to close the account - No further action would be taken to recover the debt.

I then spoke to them on the phone to clarify and got through to a very pleasant lady who confirmed what was said in the letter and that the solicitors and court had been notified!

I'll apparently be receiving a final letter from claimant any day now confirming full closure of the account x

Hi jefstudent. Difficult to say as each case and circumstance is different. I took the decision that I was going to defend regardless and it was completley unexpected that they would close the account and drop the court case. Some of the more experienced and very helpful members on here may be able to advise better. Might be an idea to start an new thread. Thanks
