  • Need a little help MMF Motor Mile Finance

    Hi there
    Today I had a text message from a place called MMF I have emailed them asking for detail on my debt as this was a payday loan I had years a go, I had not received any letter or any thing from them saying about how much the debt was. What is the best way stopping them from coming to my house ? This the text message I got from them this morning

    *Your Quick Quid a/c has been sold to MMF. Please call 01138876876 to prevent transfer to our Home Visit Dept. Ref: M1716006*

    Hi and welcome to LB!

    MMF stands for MotorMile Finance, a bottom feeding debt purchaser that often buys QuickQuid accounts.

    You may want to look at this thread:http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...650#post376650

    You'll find a letter on that post that could be sent to them, revoking the right to visit you, although in the majority of cases, threats of home visits are just empty threats. :thumb:

      Re: needs a little help

      I got a letter last week from Global Recovery stating that they had bought a debt of £2668.16 from Motor Mouth Finance who I had never heard of, never dealt with and certainly never owed any money to. The letter explained nothing about the debt just instructed me to pay it and not to ignore them. What a bunch of amateurs. I wrote to an MP, Copied it into the FOS, The ICO and the OFT and Global recovery. Global wrote back no apology no explanation other than in view of my email they have closed their books. Not letting them off the hook that easy already beaten Lowell back to the gutter and I want them to have the nuts to explain how they managed to achieve such high levels of incompetence.

        The only department Motor Mouth seem to have is a Home Visit department. They threaten this from the off. They send a series of texts geared to getting you to ring their threat monkeys. They ask you to make an appointment for one of their imaginary doorsteppers and when you ignore this then they say that their doorstepper will turn up unnanounvced. Ive been waiting for over a year for one to turn up just so as i could tell them to Feck Off.

          Latest update is that Global Recovery has closed its books on this. No apology but say its Motor Mile's fault. Motor Mile Finance has closed its books and say it can not comment on Mackenzie Hall's handling of my account. Motor Mile are inconsistent, evasive and unapologetic. They say that they have not written to my former address and therefore have not breached the Data Protection Act and that their search with Call Credit was legitimate as they had legitimate reasons. However they also said the account was assigned to them April 2012. I put two scenarios to them;
          1) They did not write to me and as such they have not issued the Notice of Assignment required by law to pursue the debt as the lawful owner. This would mean no legitimate business reason to search my file.
          2) They did write to me notifying the assignment in which case as Mackenzie Hall gave them the incorrect address and the letter was sent to the incorrect address which is a breach of the Data Protection Act and they had not sufficiently served the NOA.
          MMF tried to evade questions by hiding behind Mackenzie Hall.
          Fair play to MH they have written offering an apology and a cheque for £100.00 for distress. My business with Mackenzie Hall is concluded, but MMF still need to explain inconsistencies.
