  • Help! Parking Eye threats

I got a parking charge notice from Parking Eye last December having overstayed in a Wickes car park in Hove. There was a camera which took photos of my car entering and leaving. It was £50 to start with then going to £85. having checked out the forums re Parking Eye and Martin's Money Saving website, I decided to ignore it. I did send them a letter saying that I had not entered into a contract with them so did no longer wish to correspond with them. I then received a letter from them saying as I had stated I was NOT the driver of the car, would I please let them know who was. I did not reply to this letter.
I have now just received a letter headed 'Claim Form' in Northampton County Court stating that I now owe them the original £85 plus £15 court fee plus Solicitors costs of £50. They have sent me a form saying I need to return payment in 14days and another form if I wish to contest it and if I ignore this They will take me to court. I think these extra charges are excessive and as a pensioner I cannot afford it.
Can anyone help as I am getting very anxious about a court appearance and hate being hassled by this nasty money making company.
    Thanks
