Got someone called Rachel. Would only advise that I must contact PE to appeal and send my receipt. Was told
"I should have seen someone at the store to tell them I'd overstayed! "
Well that's great, since I wasn't aware I'd overstayed. When I pointed out that PE appeals process was spurious and didn't exist, she got stroppy. Apparently everyone's experience is inaccurate, PE HAVE A VERY ROBUST APPEALS PROCESS where ALDI customers are concerned.
I told her that no member of my family would ever shop there again and she said, if we didn't see the signs, then DVLA would be interested in our eyesight.
Thank you ALDI for BULLYING customers who spend money with you.

So basically, new rules for ALDI - get your POPLA number and proceed as otherwise advised. Then never shop there again!
