  • Potential DPA Breach

    Hi,
I rang a bank regarding a complaint. As part of this call, no identifcation or security questions were asked. I asked "what address did you send your reply to" and they gave my full address. It was only when I asked for full balance did they bother asking any ID questions.
My argument is that potential DPA breach here. Although they have said that they have not breached as they gave the info to me, at the time they did not know it was me. Further to this, i have a nut case of an ex, and they could have easily called in and been given my address (as I have moved) how can I now be sure that this info is safe?

My question is, what have they breached if anything (legislation wise)
I am not happy that they have given my address to an unverified person at the time. I agree that yes, it was me however it could have easily been anyone

    Any help would be good
    thanks

They have failed to ensure the security of the data. You have no claim, but you do have a reasonable cause for complaint.
