  • Parking Eye Over stay response - please help!

Hi A few weeks back I had my retired uncle visiting, and I lent him my car. He must have parked in a free car park and over stayed by 40 mins. I received a penalty letter from Parking Eye demanding £85 for the 40 mins over stay. I therefore wrote to them to clarify I was not the driver with the letter as per the thread:

    http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...rking-Offences

I have not received the following response from them and need help in responding as I do not know if these claims are:

    1) Valid
    2) If the claim around disclosure of his information or myself being liable is true

As mentioned my uncle is retired, hence keen to see him not pay for any fines to these vultures if at all possible.

Please can you help. The letters are per the below, I have appealed upon receipt of their notification, and have not provided his details yet:

Please see the attached for the two letters they have sent.

Those read like the drivel civil recovery operators come out with. I am somewhat sceptical about the veracity of the court cases they claim justifies the parking charges and that a judge said there is commercial justification for them.

I would strongly recommend you register with Pepipoo, a website that specialises in dealing with cases involving Private Parking Cockroaches.

Let us know how you get on.

You need to get this to popla. Did you state you were appealing ? Have they acknowledged this as an appeal ? Did you get a popla code ?

Hi They have provided a link to the Popla site, no detailed response to providing pictures of the car parked or any specific responses to any of the detailed questions raised. The response to the loss is not clear as well in that it does not show how the cost of operation they have quoted relates to the value for 40 mins of overstay.

          Ah well that's good.

Do you have the notice to keeper ? Pics of the signs etc ?

When is the popla deadline ?
