Possibly you might be nervous of posting the details of this - been there, done it, got tee-shirt!

But if you could give us a broad-brush outline - no names, no pack drill?

I thought How Long was a chinaman! (My bad )

Seriously though, if there was a dismissal, I'd be surprised if that was the given reason.

An employer can't just take someone's word and sack an employee on the basis that someone told them something which could well be totally untrue, made up by someone who holds a grudge against the employee in question. :nono:

They would have to conduct their own investigation, gather evidence and draw their own conclusions.

                  Re: Unfair Dismissal

The employer had a meeting in which the employee left in tears, the partner of the employee decided to let the employer know that he had caused the employee to have a breakdown. The employeer didnt take the calls so messages were left of a stupid nature, not threatening or anything then the employee was dismissed without any expanation.

                    Re: Unfair Dismissal

Was any disciplinary procedure held before the dismissal?

How long was the employee working for the employer prior to dismissal?

What was said by the employer to the employee in the meeting that led to her breaking down - Was she verbally abused, shouted at in an aggressive or insulting manner?

In order to help when it comes to employment matters we need precise details.
