  • MMF / Motormile chasing 2007 payday loan

I took out a payday loan for £200 in 2007 with Uncle Bucks. I subsequently got into a financial mess, which I've been sorting ever since and this year will be back in the clear at last! For one reason or another at that initially stressful time the payday loan was overlooked, and to be honesty completely forgot about it. My address and mobile number have not changed since 2006 but I received no calls or reminders by post from Uncle Bucks. Four years later I received a text from Carter Forbes telling me the debt had been passed to them for collection. I called them as requested and was told the debt had increased from £200 to£2000. I requested a statement showing calculations for that figure and evidence they had tried earlier recovery before such an increase. I've never received any details from them, and have no clue of current balance. Since 2011 I've paid Carter Forbs £1150. This week I've started receiving threatening texts from MMF and Motormile saying they've purchased my debt and threatening home visits.

Can anyone advise me please - is all this above board?
    Many thanks

You need to send SAR to the original creditor to find out what the charges are that have been added on. It sounds as if you have been duped into paying money you never owed.

Ignore the muppets and await the data from the SAR.

MMF always threaten home visits right from the start. They are just a crap DCA who have no Legal Powers whatsoever.

Most threats of home visits are just empty threats. In any case they have no rights or authority to be there in the unlikely event someone turned up.

There isn't much they can do, they wouldn't take this to court, not when you can show you've repaid over £1k on a £200 loan!:scared:

Motormouth are persistent buggers. They must decimate a stack of rainforests with the meaningless drivel. That and their multitude of text messages threatening all sorts. In the end their threats are like their heads. EMPTY
