This happened in Cardiff when an entire Unit was closed due to repeated DPA breaches.
Which was the agency to which that happened?

In other words, a private sector firm doing the kakistocracy's dirty work.

How likely would it be that part of the DWP - or the CSA - would be closed down?

            Re: CSA harassing calls

with the DPA, it is very stringent in the Call Centre environment and a lot of the DWP's jobs are outsourced to the private sector.

I know the outsources I worked for in particular did Pensions, Jobcentreplus and a few others. I believe they were looking in to the tender for the CSA at one point, I think it was the Cardiff side of the company's Pensions dept that was shut down.

We were banned from taking a phone on to the unit unless there was not camera, and even then we could have bags searched and our texts checked at the end of the day.

The maximum fine the ICO can hit offenders under the DPA with is, with effect from 6 April 2010, £500,000.

WOW! I wonder what sort of offence they would have to commit to be hit with that sort of fine! Probably something a bit more serious than SAR non-compliance!

Deliberate and repeated improper leaking or sale of data, at a time when the Indolent Commissioner's Office was being subjected to media attention or Parliamentary scrutiny.
