  • Swift Advances - Charges Breakdown

    Hi

I have asked Swift for my charges back. They have refunded some, 1/2'd some £70 ones down to £35 but kept others at £70???? When I asked why the had done this they replied they were entitled too. It doesn't make sense if a charge is £70 for work done (arrears charge) is then reduced to £35 it proves it was excessive in the first place and therefore any £70 charges they leave on are unfair & excessive. Has anyone else come across same and has anyone had a breakdown of what each charge is for please. It'l save asking those idiots as they don't seem to know themselves!

You need to get all the statements for the account so you can see how these have been recorded. If you don't have them then I suggest you sent SAR to obtain all the personal data they hold on you. With that you can see what has happened and challenge as appropriate. All items like arrears charges are unlawful unless they reflect genuine costs, so you will have a charges claim here.

      Pam,

If your agreement is unregulated They will not supply yopu with an understandable statement of account as per the CCA amendment which came in to force October 2008.....I have it on record from Mr McConnell ( a silicitor of Swift) verbal and on a CD recording and in writing that they do not have the facility for poroviding such a document.

They might send you waht they call an actuarial accrual stement of account that only an accountant can understand.........I send mine to the OFT and asked them if they had anyone at the OFT who could read Egytian Hyrogliphycs
