Maybe - but I think we are getting off the point. Perhaps if the OP comes back we may be able to do more in terms of their situation?

The ConDems have had to do U-turns on a number of issues already and I have a gut-feeling there will be a snap General Election around April of this year, following a vote of No Confidence in the ConDem government, which the government will lose. They are pushing the people too far, too fast and the people will hit back, but not in the way of violence on the streets, which is what Cameron & Co want. The Conservative element are acting out Thatcher's communitarian fantasies and trying to bring them into reality. They will not achieve it. What you have outlined is Corporate Fascism in its rawest state.
The sooner the better lets get them out before they completly destroy this country and blame every one else for their stupid poilicies.

Isn't that what the Conservatives always do, blame everyone but themselves? This PIP nonsense they are proposing to introduce has been found to be more expensive to administer and the claim forms are so complicated, you will need a Diploma in Advanced Befuddlement to understand it. It is what happens when a bunch of public schoolboys who possess good academic brains, but no commonsense, who think you can run a country like daddy's wallpaper business. It doesn't work like that. You need commonsense and an ability to think things through logically, consider all and any potential problems and listen to everyone, not just banksters and boardroom politicians.

Too true - this sort of thing is carried out by many employers (I am TU Rep & they "try it on" - it comes down to "what can we get away with" - the short answer is WE DO NOT CONSENT" or "WE DO NOT COMPLY" - am dealing with a similar case for a member and the manager is trying it on - we are letting it go on and then will let the guns blaze!
