  • new student loan question

i have been accepted onto a post grad course with the open university in feb 2013.

This time i am contemplating using the student loan service for the fees of £2500 a year/modual as my employer paid for the last course.

The open university has now sent me the application form for the loan, going through it i came to question 5.2

    5.2

Give the names and addresses of two contacts.
the people you name should live at different addresses and will only be contacted if, for example, you move address and dont inform us. you must inform these people that you have named them as contacts

That has set the alarm bell ringing, remember the likes of yescar and welcome demanded this and used it to bully relatives etc if they were unable to locate you for whatever reason.

    with the student loans company

1/ Is their a statutory requirement to give this information to the student loans company in that it is not a finance agreement regulated by the CCA 1974

2/ Is the student loans company a goverment organisation or a private entity

    Re: new student loan question

    Hi miliitant,

1/ I doubt this is covered by statute, being a matter of requested information on a form.

    2/ A government organisation:
"We pay grants, student loans and bursaries on behalf of the UK Government" - here

Thankyou for helping me render my main Welcome loan unenforcable. DCA failed to respond to CCA/assignment request letter you gave me, after 2 months.
