    haha, It sounds good on paper but I can think of 100's of hotels and restaurants that don't do this.

    Actually I think most places I have worked in the UK had a opt out policy and all though your not suppose to be treat differently-- you basically were.

      that i must agree with you on but

      the law is the law

      if anybody feels they will be put at a disadvantage needs to have a nose at the ACAS code pf practice

      this directive is no different than the national minimum wage directive

      hotel employees would be exempt from the wtd if they live in as part of there job

        update, plans have been scrapped for the changes in the Unscheduled Care and Critical Care depts but the wards will have to comply.....i have pointed my colleagues in the direction you have told me, thank you for all your advice it was very much appreciated :-)
