  • Welcome to more trouble

    Hi all,

I hope you are all well? I am new to this so plaease bare with me.

I am praying that someone can offer me some advice as I am at my wits end with welcome finance.

I took a loan out with Welcome 3 years ago on a 3 year deal which ended on the 1st of March this year. I only borrowed £2500 off them and to date have paid back in the region of £4500. I was paying £130 ish a month at the start of my contract however I did miss 3 payments back in 2008. Uh Oh! A lovely lady called me from Welcome and avised me if I increase my payments from £130 to £155 this would cover my 3 missed payments up until the end of my loan term. Great I thought pay a little extra and I have caught up. To my horror when i called Welcome a few weeks ago to make sure I was up to date I was told I still owe them £1900 in charges and interst on the missed payments. WOW! I complained about this and recieved my complaints responce letter of which the financial ombudsman were dealing with until Friday when they told me they could no longer deal with my complaint as there was an order against Welcome and liquidation is on the cards. Help...............Do I have a leg to stand on here? Should I take legal action? Carry on paying? Stop paying? I am co confused but could really do with the extra £155 a month.

    Any advice would be 'Welcome'.....

    Many thanks,

    Gavin
