  • Refund of Deposit Advice

    Please can someone advise where I stand to get a refund of my deposit.

    Deposit of £500 to furniture store for 3 piece suite as 30% of total, paid on 9 Oct 2010. Delivery of 6 - 8 weeks but not guaranteed. Chased it up twice before Christmas, second time I was told it would probably be delivered middle of January. It is now 14 weeks since we placed order - surely that is now an unreasonable length of time to wait.

    Saw on shop window that shop was closing down and that all stock was reduced! Went in to ask if we had a delivery date yet as it is now the middle of January, still no delivery date, so we told him we wanted our deposit refunded. The Branch Manager has said he needs to confirm with his Director that he can refund.

    Am now waiting for there call, but wondered where I stand. Being pessimistic but want to be fully armed in order to get my deposit back.

    Did you make the deposit by cash? Credit card/debit card?
