  • Cutting hours at work: my legal rights?

I work for a private company who are consulting on cutting the hours of work. Can I ask for the legalites of doing this?
What the the specific areas of the contention?

And finally thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

I have had an initial meeting with de management and there is a second consultation before they do it(I think it's inevitable).
I do wonder about the legitimacy of a consultation. My job remains the same yet they have gone for a "one size fits all" approach because they can.
