Re: Personal Current Account Services Billing - Consultation

I don't know if it has changed but about 4 years ago I had a situation where Abbey put the direct debit payments through at 1 minute past midnight and at 9am the same day they then update any cleared credits coming into the account.

I was angry at this time because I had sufficient cleared funds to cover any outgoings. But because of their cock eyed charging regime I was charged for 3 unauthorised payments that day as at 1 minute past midnight they were not showing the cleared funds. At 9.05am the same day there was enough cleared funds to cover outgoings.

There was also a time when you could bank cash up to the close of business to cover any payments before you got charged. Why do they keep changing the goal posts?
