British Gas have also said they will match fund the £400 scappage scheme. However, their prices can be a bit more expensive than a smaller contractor.

Switching from old G rated boiler to A rated, combined with effective thermoststs etc, can save approx £230 a year in running costs, assuming same temperature used on same tariff, ie no tariff savings.

        Re: New boiler scrappage scheme

Boiler scrappage schemes for Wales and Scotland, however, are still available.

The Welsh Assembly Government’s own boiler scrappage scheme will start running from 6 April with a £500 discount.

In Scotland, the Scottish Government has pledged £2m towards boiler scrappage schemes through its Energy Assistance Package scheme.
