  • Egg card unenforceable? any help?

    Hi all

I owe 3k on an egg card i have had appox 12 yr. I have recently paid £500 to have 4 agreements to be assessed by Beneficial Claims , however the charges after the per card for writing it off was £900 per agreement. I decided not to go ahead as they could not promise me sucess and the payments they wanted after the event would of killed me financially. This was way back in June, I have been contacted today to say they have lowered their prices per ageement to £300??? They also informed me that the Egg card IS UNENFORCEABLE and if I go ahead he can right this off in 6months.

Please help I am so lost dont know what to do?

    Hi Shelly

Of course they have reduced their price, they want your business.

How many people have you seen on here doing it themselves for free?

Ditch the CMCs and you will receive as much help and advice as possible here.

PEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE A CMC, you will regret it, trust me.

I thought some one would say that! Thank's tools!

I just dont have the stress level to cope with it when i stop paying as they will hound me :-(

Thats why i was going to let Beneficial do it on my behalf as they promised i wont get a credit rating default they would make sure of that?????

      Thanks

        And you believed that?

Do you also think that their collections team would magically stop chasing the debt once you stopped paying?

Shelly, I would deal with it yourself and put what you have already paid them down to experience.

The 59 they have dealt with MAY be unenforceable the same as yours, the questions you need to be asking are
            • how many of these have so far been written off by them?
            • did they go to court or did egg just agree to write off the balances?
            • how much did it cost the customer in the end?
            • how long did it take?
            • did it affect their credit rating?
            • could the customer have done this themselves for free?
