    I'm sorry BBB but your understanding of how things works is wrong

    If the police are going to involve themselves in the collection of civil debt then they have a duty to understand the law involved whether criminal OR civil because by their failure to do so they are actively aiding & abetting a bailiff in illegal acts

    Also we keep being told continually that ignorance of the law is no excuse then neither should it be theirs

      I agree that the police should know the law in this instance . I can remember them being called out as back up on some possesson cases I attended many years ago - and would have hoped they would have known what they could and could not do in the event of being needed to assist and not just watch.

      I must admit I just assumed they knew what they were doing.

        That's not all Scooby

        There have been instances where officers have actually lectured victims that they should be more prudent in there handling of money............. all while the bailiffs have entered the home illegally & took goods to which they had no entitlement
