  • Mobility Clause - Clarification

    Hi,

Is somebody able to confirm whether the following constitutes a mobility clause in an employment contract. If it is, could you also help me to understand what the clause could allow the organisation to reasonable require of employees:

"Your normal place of work will be the Company's offices at <Office address>. You may be required to work at any premises that are acquired by the Company or any places within the United Kingdom at which it may from time to time provide services, for the proper performance and exercise of your duties."

    Many thanks

Yes what you have detailed does constitute a mobility clause.

They have detailed the office address which is your normal everyday place of work which I presume is currently the only location, however if the company acquires other premises at a later date you may be required to work from them. Also it appears that the company you work for may provide services based in other company's premises in which case you may be required to work at any of these locations in the UK. On this latter point I may be off-base as I do not know what your company does.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.

Thank you. I thought that was the case. Very useful response and you're spot on. The organisation does provide services at customer sites.

      Thanks again
