  • CCJ awarded but should be statute barred

I received a court order for a debt from Halifax (credit card) that had been sold on to Cabot. I ignored it as I thought it was a scam by Cabot to try and get me to reply. I then realised the court was real so found letter and logged on to find a judgement had been made against me. I’m pretty sure this debt is statute barred after reading up on forums, so how can I defend it now it’s been decided against me? I’m just getting my life back in order after losing my mum and husband and business 5+ years ago.
