  • CCJ issued by Lowell HELP/ADVICE needed

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum so apologies if anything isn’t clear or missed. I am in the process of trying to resolve debt from 2011-2014 ish.. basically I’ve been a long term sufferer of anxiety and depression and admittedly ignored a lot of debt for a number of years, which has in the long run made my health worse!
The one debt id like some advice on is a credit card debt which seems to have been sold to Lowell, I believe I took this card out in 2011 and since then have lived in various properties so ultimately lost track of this debt, I have recently noticed that Lowell have issued a CCJ against me for this debt but the address they sent the letters to was one I lived in approx 2/3 years before I even got the credit card. Obviously claim forms weren’t seen by myself and I could not file a defence or affordable amount. My question is could this CCJ be set aside due to the fact they sent letters to an address previous to the address I was living in when the initial debt was taken out? I am looking to pay this off in full as don’t really have much choice to do anything else, I’m just devastated that this will remain on my account for 6 years now.
Any advice would be appreciated and anything I’ve missed just ask
    thank you in advance!

    Hi & welcome to LB.

How much (£approx) is this for?

Set-asides requests should be dealt with promptly.
Write to the judgment creditor (ie the firm whose name is on the claim form/judgment notice) & request their consent for a set-aside due to an incorrect address used on the court claim.
Details of the judgment can be found on Trust Online..... https://www.trustonline.org.uk/
Further details can then be obtained from whichever court handed down the (default?) judgment.

It was for approx £800 however it was issued in July/Aug will I still be able to do this?
Would I need to contact the court too? Or just the debt collection agent who issued it initially?

      Thank you
