  • Overdraft statute barred

    Hi

Getting conflicting information on this so far.

Ive an overdraft of £1700 and the last activity was 2005 however, the amount is still showing on my credit file. I can't recall the OD ever being defaulted or a request to repay it.

Is the OD now statute barred as i believe section 5 LA 1980 doesn't apply to this type of debt? and is the bank allowed to continue to register the same on my credit file?

    Thanks

      Hi and Welcome

Is the account definitely closed? If the account is still open and with the same overdraft limit on, then they'll just update your credit file as they would any other open account.
