I know GP’s receptionists can often be heavily burdened but if I may generalise for a moment, and taking into consideration I have lived in 5 different parts of the UK (due to OH job…Honest!) and been to 5 different GPs…and taking other people’s stories then subtracting the fact that 2 of my friends have done stints as GPs I would say...
PUT THEM ALL INTO A SACK AND GIVE IT A FEW BELTS WITH A BIT OF HOSE PIPE. Throw in all the Nuns as well while you are at it.
If you don’t like your job then leave; don’t take it out on the patients. They need to appreciate that we may be about to get the worse news of our lives -many of us have trembled in that waiting room and for some stroppy cow to make that worse by snapping could be enough to push you over the edge. Oh BTW, no matter what the surgery policy, you do not have to tell them FA even if you are booking a double appointment.
Actually, if there is any room left in that sack fire in all delivery drivers in North Wales and give it a few extra wallops.
