  • Parking Notice/County Court Judgement

My wife had received a parking Notice from Civil enforcement limited, which she had been advised to ignore and all subsequent corespondants. However a county court business centre claim form arrived and she ignored that too, but has now received a judgement for £347.12 see attached. The claim was for damages but not specified. Can anyone help?

    Re: Parking Notice/County Court Judgement

Whoever continues advising people to ignore these parking notices really really needs to make it clear that does not include a court claim. So now there is a judgment you'd have to either pay it within 28 days ( to stop it being recorded on your credit file and register of judgments for six years) or look at applying to set aside the judgment - this carries a cost (either £100 or £255 ) and a court hearing and you'd have to show good reason for not having responded to the claim AND show that had you responded you'd have had a reasonable chance of success with your defence.
