  • Driving without Insurance

My car got seized this morning for not having an insurance policy that covers commuting. I have contacted Esure and they have told me that they will indemnify me.This is because there was an adminstration error when i was taking up the policy.Does this mean that Esure is liable to the recovery charge and other costs that i will incur? And how can i avoid the 6 penalty points for driving without the right insurance?

    Re: Driving without Insurance

If esure are issuing a letter of indemnity I would expect there would be no prosecution, because they are essentially saying you were insured.

Was the admin error the omission of "commuting cover" from the certificate of insurance?
If so I would certainly try obtaining a refund from Esure.
Try a polite request at first, then up it through their complaints procedure and finally CEO.
If all that fails then off to the ombudsman.
    Up till then it's free.
If you want to go further, and haven't lost the will to live, you then have the courts!
