  • Anyone know who is cheapest supplier???

    Hi guys
Am thinking of switching gas and electricity suppliers am currently with British Gas.

I pay by DD and its a fixed amount of £36 a month for electricity and £38 a month for gas. I live in a 5 bed semi and the teenagers leave all possible electric appliances plugged in and switched on lol..............I use long life lights etc etc.........Any ideas whi is the cheapest??

I looked on uswitch website but they reckon british gas is cheapest but am suspicious!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm cheap...but that's not what you were asking LOL

It's horses for courses. Depends on what consumption you have of what. I'd be tempted to use a price comparison site myself

According to Martin Lewis this morning, the cheapest cap rates at the moment are from E.ON. But they won't be there for long !!

Gobby do you check your bills to see whether you are in credit with them or owe them.
Otherwise I'd say that a decent one you have already and I wouldnt move

I'm with Swalec and pay £35 for Gas & £65 for electric a month
thats a 2 bed end terrace mansion with no central heating.

Also swalec are usually always the last to put up their prices

I pay £44 for gas and around £120 per month for electric. But then I am also on a prepayment meter so can't do anything about it.

...and that's for a 4 bed detached house (but not for much longer unless I win my appeal (Sob !!)

I've heard of them. But not much point in me transferring if I am about to be kicked out of house anyway. But will look closer at this once I am sorted !!

PK is right gobby...check make sure if you're on target with your bills because what you're paying currently isn't bad at all if you're in credit/even and I'd stay with them if you are....I'm paying £105 a month for gas & electricity together and I'm only in a 3 bed semi, with myself and the 2 boys living here!

Re: Anyone know who is cheapest supplier???

I am in front with gas to the tune of £126.67 and in front with electric to the tune of £67.00

I cant remember last time I had heating on though(its gas) and I refuse to have a tumble dryer I also switch everything off when not in use and only put the amount I need in the kettle instead of filling it. I also got rid of the microwave and that has made a big difference with my electric.(with shopping bill too)
*After reading what you lot are paying me thinks I will stick with what I have.

The price you pay depends on your area, if you live in my area, eon cannot keep their prices lower than any other supplier in this area, this all stems from when the market was opened up from being east mids elec in the east mids, scottish power up in scotland etc etc, it is always cheaper to go with a company from out side of your supply area number, think yours would have been norweb wouldnt it gobster?
