• Ccj from gladstone brokes

I have recently received a letter to advise I have a CCJ for a parking ticket dating back to Jan 2016, it is already past the 1 month phase in which I can pay and get it removed, I want to pay it and get it taken off my record as I don't want my credit rating being affected, does anybody have any idea if this is possible and how I go about it? Any help would be massively appreciated
Thanks

Hi Welcome to LB,

Was the ticket issued Jan 16 i.e. over a year ago?

If you would gave to get the CCJ set aside and then defend the original claim.

I'll see if I can find someone more experience than I on parking matters.
mystery1 can you help please.

Thanks nem! The CCJ was issued on 16th December! And I'm not sure what I would be defending? Also who do I ask to set aside? Gladstone brokes is it? Sorry about all of the questions, Thanks

Gladstones (as opposed to Gladstone Brookes) are the "solicitors". Someone else will be the client. Gladstone cases are usually defendable. (nothing 100% winnable but certainly defendable).

You will need to make contact with the courts and/or Gladstones and their clients to get any information you need.

You also need to fathom out why you got no court papers. Usually it lies in moving house without informing DVLA via the V5 (as opposed to the driving licence) or moving after they have your details and they can't be arsed to check before filing a claim.

Some companies will consent to a set aside if you agree to pay but as we don't know who ...... (i'm not suggesting this as i think defending is better but just FYI)

Thanks M1. So if it is agreed to be set aside will it be removed from my credit score with no trace? Also I believe the client is millennium parking services.
How do I go about applying for it to be set aside ? Thanks

Should be.

Read the thread i linked. Explains mostly what is needed although that wasn't by consent.

Any questions me or R0b (hopefully) will do our best.
