  • I was assaulted by resident at work

I work in a Nursing home, and was assaulted by a lady, that should be in Mental Health care, not Nursing. She is known for her violent and aggressive behaviour, and has slapped, kicked, grabbed and sworn at staff, on numerous occassions. Management are aware of this, and she is on 1 to 1 24 /7, although just recently she has been 2 to1 as her behaviour is worse. She lashed out at me, and slapped me extremely hard, in my eye, and my vision went blurred, and ended up in Eye casualty, where i was examined, and had eye inflammation, and given 3 wk Antibiotic course. I wrote an incident report, and spoke to my Manager, who wasn't bothered at all, not even asked how i was !!?? The second assault, the same evening, was by a Man who everyone thought was lovely and placid. I went upstairs to answer his buzzer, and he was out of bed, trying to put his day clothes on, at 4am, i asked him if he wanted to go back to bed, as its very early, or come downstairs, for tea and toast. He then swore at me, and raised his hands, backing me towards the door, he had his fists in my face, and he said im going to kill you, Fing kill you ! i couldnt reach for the emergency buzzer, as it was on the other side of the room, and had to scream for help. Luckily my co worker ran upstairs and assisted me. Ive just been made aware that both residents have now had meds review, and have been under watch, by Outreach Team, and may be sectioned !! My Manager is not interested in the slightest. Please any advice ?? It's been going on for to long now. Thanks in Advance.
