  • My thanks to R0b - couldn't have done it without him!

I was a first-time poster on here a few months ago and a first-time litigant getting no where fast with my claim for misrepresentation against the seller of a property I bought in 2014.

Despite lots of people viewing, username R0b was the only person to reply to my post. He helped me with documents for my Court application and lots of subsequent drafting of replies to the other side and advice on what to do next, all of which I couldn't seem to get from anyone else. Despite taking expensive preliminary advice from litigation solicitors before issuing my claim and then approaching a barrister to represent me (who refused to do so unless able to charge me for another Advice and was not willing to take my case on a direct access basis, but only if I went through a firm of solicitors he recommended), none offered the practical and timely support I needed. R0b however did.

I was told by the 'professionals' that my case could take 12-18 months before it came to trial and, worst case, I could be as much as £140,000 out of pocket (most of it in legal fees). Instead, after 40 private emails on here from R0b and a couple of days before the scheduled court hearing, the defendant agreed to settle my claim.

I can't thank R0b enough. He is intelligent, knowledgeable, helpful and precise. He wouldn't accept payment for his time or assistance either. If he keeps up his good work, he deserves to become a legend!

As a first - and last- time litigant, now despairing of the legal profession and the hefty costs of our justice system, I'll sign off.

He's a good chap xx Glad you got this sorted out, it is a shame that the legal system let you down, well done for persevering with it, many would have given up when faced with that kind of difficulty getting legal help. There are barristers that can take instruction directly - but you are looking at a good couple thousand to begin with. Extremely frustrating, and that is, basically, why we exist.

I am over the moon that you won but am almost in tears because you said thank you so very eloquently. You had the courage to fight and I know that many sleepless nights came before the ‘corks were popped’. I do not know my gluteus maximus from my Habeas corpus and am constantly in awe of Bob and the other clever beagles. They not only give people like us a fighting chance but restore our faith in mankind. Take a bow Rob –You are a hero.:hail:
