  • County Court / Cabot / Restons

    Hello All,

A good few years ago my grandparents had a girl who cared for them lovely lass really was, She met a guy and moved away.

About maybe 6 months later letters started arriving from all sorts of places, Then one day a bailiff arrived and we had to get a letter from my grandparents solicitor to state she owned nothing in the property and not longer resided with us. So after this we opened each letter and called explaining she had left about 3 years prior and that we had no forwarding address they assured us that no further letters would arrive....

Fast forward 5 years now since she left and we have received court papers for her from one of the debts we have already explained too.. My grandparents are now worried sick and i am really ****** off they have ignored me.. So..

What do i do.,... I don't want them just issuing a CCJ as this has to be wrong she has no way to defend as she has no knowledge of these letters and now i feel this is my fight as the dam sods would not listen to me which has really got me mad in fact so mad i am thinking of driving to their offices as they ignore the calls bar the payment line.

The letter is for County court Northampton. 2007 agreement with a high street bank.

So my question is.. What do i do ?? I would of thought that it was SB reading your great forums but however i do not know i just want to make there lives dam hard work...

    Thanks

    Tony

    Hi welcome to LB

Your course of action is simple :

Return the Claim Pack ( If the has come via the Northampton County Court Business Centre) addressed to the Court Manger with a covering letter compiled as A Formal Notice of Disassociation stating this person is no longer resident at the address and the whereabouts are unknown .

These letters should be returned unopened to the sender (s).

You can also place a small add in the local papers disassociating your Grand Parents and their address from this woman.
You can phone NCCBC and inform the manager what the situation is confirming the documents have been returned.

To be blunt it is no concern of yours or your grand parents what happens obviously their address has been used to obtain credit which has not been paid for.
I would also recommend a check of grand parents credit reference files to see if there any links to the woman. ( Noddle Credit reference is free online.

      Thanks Nem,

My concern is if they just Grant the CCJ then the Bailiffs arrive again this is exactly the same as last time they are heading too 90 this Deceber and this is just not on so i understand it's not my issue but if they arrive it is my issue and i want to prevent this from happening.

      Thanks

The route through the court manager at NCCBC is the safest way to go did you keep the solicitors letter from the previous incident?
A copy kept to hand would be useful, but I doubt there will be further problems after the letter is sent, emphasise the age and vulnerability
of the grand parents as well.
