  • unreasonable delay

Hi, I am at the stage of court case due, I believe I have a ironclad defence, not to mention it here !!!!!!
My question is, from receipt of letter of "pay now or take to court" plus the 14 days stated, to the date of receipt of court claim, was 8 months 12 days.
My question, is this unreasonable in law, and is there a time limit in law.

Not really, notice has been given and that will be enough.

      Re: unreasonable delay

Have you received a claim pack from the court??
Or just the " Letter before action?

If you have received a claim have you acknowledged service?
Requested Documents e.g. CCA Request, CPR31.14 Request?
      Submitted a defence?

If you have done any of the above you urgently need to check the
status of the claim with the issuing court.
I would also advise checking credit reference files to make sure that
no judgement has been made in default after the time that has elapsed.
Some more data on the claim/claimant will help us to advise more accurately.
