I want to take the person to court for making these Allegations but have been told it would cost 40-50 thousand pound. so that means this person will get away with this. anyone got any info please.

You can sue someone for defamation by yourself.
You'd need to prove that the comments were false, harmful and caused you loss or damage.
Have you asked your employer where the situation is, currently?
What are they doing and what will be the next steps?
