  • How can my old ltd company get paid...think its been struck off.

    Long story short....
I fell ill 3 years ago with spinal problems...My sucsessfull Ltd company was owed £6,000 for one of the last jobs i did...I was a builder refurbing houses for various property investors, in the buy to let game...This customer was a new one and all i had as a contact was his email address, had never met him like many of my customers.I finished the works and before I could send the invoice to the landlords email ad a tenant moved in.
The works were finished to a high standard and no one raised any complaints, and as a tenant had moved in the job was done and finished...But the landlord just ignored my emails and the sent invoice.I fell ill and my company just fell apart...I owed the tax man about 3G and VAT about 1G ,so I just gave up paying them and fighting for my 6G.
After about a year now I have recieved no more demands from HMRC ,VAT or companys house, I ignored all letters recived before...CH threatened to stricke my Ltd off but HMRC blocked it once before, then some time ago I recived a letter from CH saying it will be struck off soon...Have heard nothing since, and thats maybe a year ago.
Anyway...This landlord guy ,now i am healthyier and able to mentaly fight...I feel needs sorting out , idealy I would like to just say to a debt collector "here is the invoice, get the money" but is that possible ? on-line I cant find offers of this service...and of course who does the landlord write a cheque to, I would not want it for my Ltd, and if he did pay what about the Vat that was included in the total? does he owe the Vat , can I get him that way by reporting him to HMRC as Vat is owed?

He doesn't owe you anything, the debt belonged to the now dissolved company. No debt collector will be interested as you have no authority to assign the debt to them.
Whilst it may be annoying that he has got away without paying for something, you haven't really lost out as your company would have paid the debts to HMRC had he paid your company and not been left with much if anything to take out for yourself.
