  • Post office error

Unusually for us we have had absolutely no post for about week. No bills or even mail shots, i put it down to the bank holiday and never really give it any further thought.
Today I received someone else mail, same door number but wrong post code etc.

I rang the sorting office and got a complaint number, a bit dosy today so for some reason I did not ask when they were going to get back to me.

I am awaiting a coupe of _PPI payouts and of course need to monitor my other payments.

What redress is there available to me against the PO, if for instance there is council tax owed I am unaware of or some other matter through which I was unable to address through this, bank charges or similar for instance.

Just realized that this is probably in the wrong place so can someone move it for me please( said I was having a dosy day)

    Re: Post office error

Good question - I know the sender of mail for items lost, damaged or not delivered can claim compensation (subject to conditions) - But don't know if the recipient can, if they have incurred a loss as a result. In fact as your not party to the contract and the sender is, then you probably can't. Though you may be able to claim off the sender who in turn could claim from royal mail / post office.

I also get these kinds of errors most of the time.
