Please help as I am feeling stressed now!!!

I met my friend and we both parked at a retail car park that we assumed was free parking as the time limit was not obvious! We both then received a parking fine from TPS - which my friend and I both appealed. They asked for our bank statements and receipts as evidence we had been to said shops in the retail park and we complied - I even apologised and said that we understand some people take liberties but we were genuine customers!

They have emailed me and said that unfortunalty my appeal was insufficient and I would have to fill out a form and appeal at POPLA. They did not attach a form to the email. My friend heard nothing! This was back in August! I have just received another letter asking for £85 -

I realise I have left this a few months-as a mother of a toddler that doesn't sleep that well I have pushed it to the back of my priority list!

People have said they don't have a leg to stand on and that I should ignore it but I can't now and it is stressing me out now. Please help? What should I do - write to popla?
