  • Question about virgin media re: insertion in my Credit file....

    Hi,

This is a really quick question, that I'm sure has a simple answer....its also quite weird

On checking my credit file with experian, I note that Virgin media has marked an old account that I defaulted on as, satisfactory with a balance of £110. This was last updated on 25/08/13.

The account was apparently started on 28/04/2008...As usual I cant remember. but why would they mark this when I have never made a payment since it defaulted?

    Thanks for your help

Actually I think it was in 2008 that it was added to experian but defaulted before hand....still makes no sense though!

It may be they have sold the debt to a DCA, or If it was defaulted pre 2008 it may be that it is stat barred and they have written it off. Do you know the defaulted date ? Some credit files show you the date the markers are expected to come off your credit file.

Hi Amethyst (Thanks for your help the other day by the way...both you and labman set me on the right track)

I have checked my report again and no, nothing...the only entry is 25/08/13 and the start date they have put. But marked as satisfactory!

Maybe they just written it off....wish I was as lucky with all my old debts! lol

Oh but if they have sold to a dca....should it not still be marked as defaulted because I thought that a dca could not then default it again?
