can I please have some help,I have posted on here before with parking eye prob. We went to Southampton port in may we arrived too early and the lady at the port said just go to the car park behind and wait until its time to sail and come back. We had never been to Southampton before we found the car park and parked and sat in the car for 40 mins. Next thing we knew a letter arriving with a fine from parking eye, we thought that as we had been told by red funnel to park there it was there car park she didn't tell us it was a pay one. I was advised to appeal and it has been rejected i now have a POPLA code. What do i do next and how do i word the appeal to POPLA and will it make a difference????

I dont have any photos of the car park just the ones of our car entering and leaving car park, we were told to park there by the staff member of red funnel while we waited for our ferry. I didnt see any signs, we waited in the car as we were told. We live 300 miles away so didnt know the area at all. I have the popla code and we have received 2 letters now first one with the fine second one turned down the appeal and given me popla code. They have offered to extend the discount period to pay though!!
Please can you help with the appeal letter to popla
    thanks

I need dates of what happened and when (including letters/notices) to formulate an appeal. Post as much as you can (without name & address reg number etc).

You could also contact Red Funnel and if they are responsible for the land and parking eye are working for them and try to get them to cancel it.

    Re: Maxinep - Parking eye

Was there any CLEAR and LEGIBLE signage on the car park regarding fees? If nor Parking Eye have a problem wiht their invoice, it is not a fine it is an unlawful civil penalty as in cost to park £1 an hour, stay 30 minutes consequential loss = 50 p, demand for £80 is way outside any loss, so is a penalty charge which it is unlawful for private company to impose. Other Beagles can help further. Parking Eye usually get spanked if they try to get a CCJ and it is defended, Most CCJs they try for are default when someone doesn't defend. Usual way of dealing with Parking Eye is to ignore the blighters.

Hi we parked on Monday 27th may at 10.55 at Associated British ports town quay (short Stay) car park in Southampton. They say in the 2nd letter dated 14th June that my recent appeal has been unsuccessful due to the fact the car park is a pay and display the records show you did not purchase a valid pay and display ticket. The first letter with the charge on was Monday 3rd June. I am going to call red funnel to see if they own the car park as we were told to just go and wait there. It was a bank holiday so again should a charge stand?? Thanks

        Bank holiday means nothing.

Did you get a popla code with that rejection of appeal ?

            Ok.

When you've spoken to Red Funnell come back. Try and get pics of signs from them if they aren't going to cancel.

                Re: Maxinep - Parking eye

Do you have any notice or letters from them ?

Are they chasing the driver or the registered keeper ?

Have you told them who the driver is ? (directly or indirectly) It's better if you haven't but not fatal.

You may be better off going to Pepipoo as they have folks more into this sort of thing.

Can you take a picture even if it's with your phone ?

Otherwise have a look through http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/keeper-liability/ and let me know what they have failed on. The law is http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...dule/4/enacted

I'll guess for starters that the term "creditor" doesn't appear ?
