  • Employer handling sensitive? Information

    Hi all,

I had to go to the hospital last night with my daughter, i rang the office manager and told her i wouldnt be in for my night shift and why and also that id sorted suitable cover with the covering staff which she told me was fine. so she emailed the main manager and told him im off due to taking my daughter the hospital and shes copied in the monitoring station where i work from aswell as 4 other employees on the emails so EVERY employee there can see it, have i got reason to bring this up and say im not happy how they handled the info? The main reason i didnt want anyone other than the managers knowing is because the other stafg are nosey and would ask constant questions which is the last thing i need at the moment.

    Thanks

You should issue a grievance as 1 it's breach of confidentiality and of your daugthers too. And 2 it is a breach of data protection.

So right a formal grievance letter up expressing your dissatisfaction and making clear what i have put above to them.

P.s. i would recommend removing your daugthers name too as you never know whos watching the forums!
