  • Are they taking the mick, or what?!

Take a look at this sign at a motorway service station...

Not only do they actually STATE that the charge is a penalty (and thereby unenforceable), they make it even more likely to be unenforceable by making it extortionate!

And... they then go on to use the term "Offender" - thus magicking a criminal offence out of thin air...

LMAO I would LOVE to see them try to enforce this...

Nah, parking in there would be too difficult, what with all the trees 'n all!

Are you allowed to park there if you are a football coach?

The bloody annoying thing about this is, one of our drivers (from an agency) was fined for parking in the coach area. The main lorry area was full and he had to take a tachograph break by law. He double checked with the attendant on site and they told him as the lorry park was full he would be allowed to park there overnight. He woke the next morning to find a ticket on the screen and a fine. No idea how he got on with it as he hasn't had any work with us lately.

I see lots of coaches parking in the lorry area when there are ample spaces in the coach parks. Usually full of OAP's wandering around aimlessly and generally being a pain in the arse. On many occasion when I have seen lorry drivers almost run them over as they suddenly appear from behind another lorry. If they were to hit one then the driver would be the first to be shafted for a "due care & attention" case. The coach drivers should get fined for parking in the lorry areas and vice versa, but come on, £100 ? I would like to see them try that one with me.

              Tools whom it may concern

You have illegally parked in my space. (ie above).

You are therefore liable, under the Parking WhereEver the F You Feel Like Regulations 1853, to a fine of 100 pounds sterling.

Please deposit this (cash only), sealed in a waterproof bag. inside the cistern of the adjacent public toilet.

Failure to do so immediately will result in your tyres being let down and your wing mirrors being adjusted into a silly position.

              Thank you for your custom.
