  • Good Customer Service

I just thought I would start a thre3ad in which we can highlight companies who may have done something good for a change.
I appreciate that everyone may have had bad experiences as well.

Ok my first one is Screwfix, as I am doing my kitchen I am getting a few bits, well loads actually, from them, and way back in Septemeber I got a cooker hood from them.
I installed this last weekend and it worked ok for the week, but yesterday it developed a rattle, which didnt happen all the time.
But at teatime today it went big time, as some thing dismantled itself from within.
When i took it down it appeares that the fan casing had shattered.
So i call Screwfix at 7.55pm SUNDAY and explain what has happened.
On Tuesday I will have the old one collected and a replacement delivered with no fuss, no prolonged discussion on the phone, very simple.

How many other companies could you call at this time on a sunday night and get basically a next day delivery.

    Well Done Screwfix

    Re: Good Customer Service

I used this company years ago, and have always found their customer service great.

Another one is Viking Direct stationery supplier. I have used them for years and have found them extremely helpful and polite. I have had no problems returning goods, and any faulty equipment has been dealt with efficiently with no quibbles.

If you order an item that is not in stock, they will give you a more expensive item at no extra cost. I once telephoned to return an item that I had ordered in error, and they told me that as it was quite cheap (I think it was files costing about £10), just to hold onto them or give them to a charity shop, and they sent the ones that I wanted at no extra cost.

It is so refreshing to deal with a company where people will go out of their way to please their customers.

I bought a strimmer from B&Q sometime in the last year. My neighbour used it and brought it back; the flexible connection between the motor and the whizzy bit had broken. I couldn't find the receipt ANYWHERE. So I took it to B&Q and was all prepared to get the card I bought it with out, and everything, to prove to them I bought it from them.

No need at all - they swapped it on the spot. I even said to the girl at the counter "Are you the only people who sell this model then?" and she said "No, no, this is for sale everywhere." So I STFU and said thanks very much... and left. No idea to this day why they swapped it - but I got a brand spankers replacement out of it... :-)
