  • SAR Request, Why search my credit file!?

I'm waiting on a response to my SAR request from the original creditor MBNA.

Considering they already have and know my details, is it normal procedure to do a search on your credit file?

I don't know why this has been done but they have my details!!

Some companies do 'soft' or unrecorded searches which (apparently) do not affect your credit rating.
This might be done to check ID, among other things.

I've suffered a drop in credit score!!

I was 534 now I'm 484 since the search was done.

They know my details so can't understand why1?

Numerical credit scores are pretty meaningless TBH

If it is noddle it pretty much means your credit is rubbish anyway

It could be down to the amount of credit you are using on your Capital One cards and what level of payments you are making.

Mine goes up and down more often that a ****** knickers I just live with it.

          LOL

I am just amazed doing a credit search for a subject access request though.

I've asked for everything in relation to a particular account number.

MBNA sold the debt to Max Recovery so wanting information I can use on Max Recovery if their is any dodgy.

On the search it comes in as being under "ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT".

What has that got to do with an SAR request?

            I'm confused!!

I am also waiting to hear back from the Case Manager at M<BNA.

I've asked for compensation due to the unauthorised entry and damage to my credit score.
