  • esa assessment descriptor questions, need advice as assessment in 2 days time!

Can anyone PLEASE offer me any advice on how he can apply descriptors to his conditions for ESA assessment 10th JAN? We have absolutely no idea how to apply these things? Can someone point us in the right direction? As mentioned previously - Long term mental illnesses-15 years, severe depression, severe social anxiety/ social phobia/ BDD previous long standing, alcoholism (bad body image issues) and paranoia and obsessive behaviour etc.

We really need some idea of how to link his condition specifically to the questions they ask you? They didn't send him an ESA50!

He has an advocate but he hasn’t done any assessments ever so we’ve had no professional advice on how we do this and were running out of time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As said on your other thread you need to ring Maximus and ask for the form if they refuse or state you don't need one then I think you should attend the appointment as sanctions may be put in place re benefits. The appointment is tomorrow?

As for the questions you may be asked they will be about how the illnesses affects your friend on day to day living and his advocate should be aware as to the problems his illnesses cause him.
Are you sure your friend didn't receive the form and had no idea of it's importance? juat asking.

Without knowing the person, it is almost impossible to give detailed advice on completion of the form.
In general tho' after every question state the task cannot be performed "reliably, repeatedly, safely and in a timely manner".
If you don't ensure the assessors are told this they are likely to assume that a task which can be completed once, can be repeated ad nauseam etc.
