  • PIP: Mental Health ruling.

I am sure most people already know about the court ruling that found that the PIP guidelines regarding mental health were deemed to be discriminatory.

I was awarded the lower rate mobility in March 2017 due to having agoraphobia, so there is a possibility that I may be one of the people affected by this.

I am just wondering if anyone else has heard yet? Or does anyone have any information on when people can expect to hear about their claims?

I am tempted to write a letter to the DWP to ask them if I am likely to be affected by this but would they be able to tell me anything at this stage does anyone know?

The government decided at beginning of 2018 not to appeal the High Court finding.
DWP are supposed to be automatically reviewing claims made after Nov 2016, so I see no harm in asking them when they are reviewing your case as you could do with the extra money. (don't ask if it will affect you, go right in and ask when!)

That has encouraged me to write to them, I agree, what harm can it do.

I know that originally they were going to appeal the decision, I wonder what it was that made them change their minds?

I will write to them today, and let everyone know what I get back.

Just a thought, do you think it would be better to write to them, or email the Ministers? The ministers email address is provided on here:

I'm not sure what I'd be better off doing?

          Ministers are probably on holiday!!
I would start at the bottom and work my way up to an appeal if necessary.
