  • Provident responsible lending complaint

    Hello,

I have been young and silly my credit file is quite a mess and i am beginning to try and sort it out.
with not having much money and a low income i want to pay as little back as possible

I noticed a lot of people starting these responsible lending complaints and thought i would give it a go.
I believe provident were not responsible when lending to my self as i was on an very low income at the time and my credit was most likely a mess as well, they carried on lending to the point i could no longer afford the repayments.

So here's were i am up to - Sent provident an email following the instructions on debt camels website, i have received a letter from provident stating they was dealing with the complaint and a further email saying they was still looking at this however no actual response from them.

See the problem is that its been a while since i had these loans and don't remember any details of the loans.
all i have is the balance that lowel are now chasing as the debt was assigned to them.

The initial email i sent to provident was back in august.

Thanks for reading this and if you have any suggestions i would be very greatful.

    Thanks

hi! The Debt Camel articles are the best place for questions really, as you can see how other people are getting on.

Have you told Lowell that you are disputing the debt with Provident? You must do this - they won't be able to start any court action against you until your complaint is finished.

If it has been 8 weeks since your complaint, you can send it to the ombudsman immediately.

Hello, thanks for your reply. I have typed up a letter which i will send to lowel tomorrow, Provident keep sending me emails saying they need 14 more days which i have had 3 of. Also on the email it says i can send it to the ombudsman.

The thing is i am not sure of all the details so not sure were to start with the complaint to the ombudsman, the initial complaint to provident was to find out all the details about the loans i took out with then.

        Thanks

          Re: Provident responsible lending complaint

I am much more likely to see your questions if you ask them on the Debt Camel site...

Just send the complaint in to the Ombudsman and explain in it that provident haven't yet sent you a list of your loans.
